As some of you may have experienced, a corvette being hit hard enough leaves more than an unsightly ding. Being fiberglass means that the car will "break", be it from a collision or stress. This breakage can begin to occur simply from age under the right conditions. As our name states, we are well suited to address any of your corvette body needs resulting from collision or age. We perform general restoration work and insurance claims body work as well.
Each generation of corvette offers different issues, and in some cases different fiberglass, that have to be addressed with different restoration processes and/or materials. Over the last 24 years we have developed and tuned our body repair and restoration skills to provide you with the best results you can get for any generation. Corvette Specialty will bring your damaged corvette back to original new looking condition.
Nothing shows our skills better than the quality of the paint and body work on our cars. Using only the best products Corvette Specialty can produce a show quality car at a much lower cost to the owner than most other facilities. To produce the quality of body work that will stand the test of time it is important to do the proper prep work on the body before painting. Corvettes, being fiberglass, need that special attention to prep work prior to painting. This ensures that once completed the paint will be flawless and will stay flawless for years to come with no defects in the fiberglass showing through immediately following painting or down the road.
Here at Corvette Specialty we do not do chemical strips of paint. This can cause problems with the paint immediately or later down the road due to the fiberglass
absorbing the chemicals. We only do mechanical strips using razors and sanding. All attached components are removed (including weather stripping) to ensure a complete paint job. A standard paint job would be all exterior surfaces, window sills, lamp recesses, and edge wraps.
Corvette Specialty has two paint booths, one of which is a brand new
state-of-the-art down side draft booth. Most paint jobs are 2 stage with a thick clear that allows the complete color sanding of the car following painting to achieve that glass smooth appearance. Corvette Speciatly can restore cars to their original colors, repair panels and paint match, or do custom colors and paint schemes.
